Eileen Marie Atwood


Eileen Marie Atwood, 84, died Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Logan Health Hospital in Kalispell.
She was born in Kenmare, N.D., the first daughter to Adolph and Eleanor Anderson. She grew up on the family farm, near Coulee, N.D. She attended and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1955.
After high school, she attended State Teachers School in Minot, N.D., receiving her first-grade elementary teaching certificate in 1956. She taught school for several years.
She met Eugene Atwood and they married on Sept. 7, 1958. To this union, four children were born, Dwaine, Mitchell, Ross and Kim.
After living in several different states and overseas in the Canary Islands, they moved to Wolf Point in 1971, where she continued to reside.
She helped manage the Westland Gas Station in Wolf Point and worked at the J.C. Penny store. She later went to work at the Buttrey’s Food Store (later changed to Albertsons). She worked there for 35 years before retiring in 2009.
She enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She loved to garden, tend to flowers and took great pride in her yard. During the warm months, she was always outside tending to these things.
She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her family was always her first priority. Her chocolate chip cookies and caramel cinnamon
