Red Hawks Open With Win Over MonDak

Froid/Lake opened play at the District 2C boys’ basketball tournament with a 63-22 quarter-final victory over MonDak on Thursday, Feb. 17.

The Red Hawks jumped out to a 22-5 lead in the first quarter and held a 32-15 halftime advantage.

Froid/Lake increased the gap to 47-21 in the third quarter and then outscored the Thunder, 16-1, in the final period.

Top scorers for the Red Hawks included Brett Stentoft with 18, Javonne Nesbit with 15 and Mason Dethman with 13 points.

Bode Miller scored five points. Adding two points each were Max Engelke, Ashdyn Hobbs, Caden Kelm, Connor Huft, Patton Bighorn and Joseph Robertson.

Leaders in rebounds were Stentoft with eight and Miller with seven. Miller had three assists. Leaders in steals were Nesbit with five and Dethman with three.

Carson Solberg accounted for 16 of MonDak’s points.
