Spacht Works Toward Future In Culbertson
Culbertson High School senior Colton Spacht has been attending school in Culbertson since the first grade.
He notes that he’s one of the few students who has been at Culbertson the entire time. “They have come and gone,” he laughed.
Spacht said he has enjoyed growing up in the Culbertson community.
“Everybody is pretty nice around here,” he explained.
One of his favorite school activities is Jobs For Montana Graduates. The ultimate objective of JMG is for students to secure a quality job and/or postsecondary education that leads to a meaningful career.
“It’s more of at your pace class,” Spacht explained.
He also appreciates history class. “It’s the way that Mr. Solem teaches,” Spacht said.
His favorite teacher is Mary Machart.
“She always is willing to help out in the community and cares for students,” Spacht said. Outside of school, his favorite activities are hunting and fishing.
He says he’s been hunting with his father since he was 12 years old. Every year, he has success by shooting a buck.
As far as fishing, he competed at the lake trout tournament in the Flathead last summer. He also likes fishing in the area.
After high school, Spacht plans to attend WyoTech in Laramie, Wyo., and study diesel mechanics.
He hopes to become a diesel technician in the area.
