County Cupboard Food Bank Seeks Donations

The County Cupboard in Culbertson is seeking donations to offset expenses. Organizer Ashlee Anderson said that need is up from across Roosevelt County.

“We have been experiencing higher than normal numbers at the County Cupboard since November,” said Anderson. “Any monitory donations would be greatly appreciated.”

Anderson told the Community News that her records show over 65 percent of patrons at the pantry are from the Fort Peck Reservation. Area residents participate on a volunteer basis, with 100 percent of donations going towards grocery distribution.

The County Cupboard is a non-profit, 501c3 organization and donations are deductible. The group’s mission is focused on ending hunger in Roosevelt County. They do not currently receive support from the Fort Peck Tribes.

Local volunteers staff the pantry weekly out of the County Building located on Main Street in Culbertson every other Tuesday. The next distribution date is March 29.

Donations can be take to First Community Bank or mailed to PO Box 484, Culbertson, MT 59218.
