Visitors Receive Good Vibes At Frontier

Frontier School students served up a treat for their parents and community with a Good Vibes Cafe on Thursday, March 24.
The night featured free drinks and cookies along with students portraying historical figures in a wax museum setting. The event attracted 187 individuals.
Tina Strauser, social studies teacher, explained, the Good Vibes Cafe is a new program, but the wax museum has been held in prior years.
“This lets parents see the style of writing we’re teaching our students,” Strauser said.
Darla Warrior, an English teacher, was also very involved with the event’s preparations. Besides her instruction, she also ordered costumes for the students.
The assignments included writing assignments for kindergarten through fourthgrade students, research projects for fifth and sixth grade students and oral interpretations of writing for seventh and eighth graders.
“Everybody has been excited about it,” Strauser said.
The teacher likes the project because it encourages family engagement with the school system. As far as the wax museum, students needed to make presentations of historical individuals. Choices ranged from Annie Oakley to Neil Armstrong to Susan B. Anthony.
