Culbertson opened its track season with a solid showing at the Glasgow Invitational on Friday, April 1.

Culbertson took 14th in the girls’ team standings with 12.66 points. Plentywood topped the standings with 194.33 points followed by Savage with 110 points and Scobey with 106 points.

The Cowboys were 16th in the boys’ standings with 13 points. The top three teams were Havre with 214, Malta with 162 and Glasgow with 158 points.

Megan Granbois and Makena Hauge each cleared 4-8 in the high jump to tie for fourth place.

Kayli Olson ran the 3200 in 14:06.12 to earn sixth place.

In the boys’ division, Culbertson’s 400-meter relay team finished fifth with a time of 48.74 seconds. Running the relay were Reese Moon, Bridger Salvevold, Colin Avance and Payton Perkins.

Aidens Perkins earned sixth in the discus with a best of 109-3. Avance placed ninth in the discus at 106-05.

Moon took seventh in the long jump with a mark of 17-4. The freshman finished seventh in the 200 at 26.42 seconds.

Justice Bengochea placed seventh in the shot put with a best of 40-0. P. Perkins took 10th in the shot put at 39-02.

Bridger Salvevold placed sixth in the 100 at 12.41 seconds, sixth in the 800 at 2:18.34 and eighth in the 400 at 59.76 seconds.

District 2C athletes earning firsts at the meet were Plentywood’s Cameron Brusven in the javelin and long jump, Savage’s Brooke Reuter in the 400, Plentywood’s Annie Kaul in the 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, Savage’s girls’ 400-meter relay team of Cambry Conradsen, Faith Reed, Teah Conradsen and Reuter, Fairview’s Scout Hopes in the shot put, Plentywood’s Emma Brendal in the discus, Plentywood’s Audrey Sampson in the high jump and Plentywood’s Mallory Tommerup in the triple jump.

Culbertson will compete in Lambert on Thursday, April 7. Action begins at 9 a.m.
