Lustre Enjoys Strong Showing In Lambert


The Lustre Christian Lions scored 51 points to earn fourth place in the boys’ standings at the R& L Track Invite in Lambert on Thursday, April 7.
Plentywood won the boys’ title with 105 points followed by Richey/Lambert with 71 and Culbertson with 53 points.
An outstanding meet by Jasiah Hambira highlighted Lustre’s efforts. The junior earned first in the triple jump with a school record distance of 44-3.
Hambira also took first in the high jump by clearing 6-0, first in the 200 with a time of 24.0 seconds and first in the 400 with a time of 57.79 seconds.
Elijah Lenihan placed third in the high jump by clearing 5-6 and sixth in the 800 at 2:45.71.
Lustre’s boys’ 1600-meter relay team of Lenihan, Braden Ewing, Cayden Klatt and Hambira finished fourth with a time of 4:25.08.
Ewing had a best of 16-2 for sixth place in the long jump.
Klatt took seventh in the 1600 at 55.81 and seventh in the 300-meter hurdles at 55.81 seconds.
In the girls’ division, Rebekah Jossart finished fourth in the 1600 with a time of 7:07.91. She took 12th in the long jump and 16th in the 100.
The Lions will compete in Whitewater on Thursday, April 23, and in Sidney on Saturday, April 25.
