Middle School Athletes Place At Sidney Meet
Track athletes from Culbertson, Bainville and Froid/ Lake competed at the Sidney Middle School meet on Friday, April 8.
Culbertson accounted for five points in the seventh- grade boys’ division, six in the boys’ eighth-grade division, five in the seventh- grade girls’ division and 10 in the eighth-grade girls’ division.
Leading Culbertson’s eighth-grade boys were Brooks Solem with a fourth in the 200-meter hurdles and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles, Tyler Friede with an eighth in the 800, Josh Firemoon with a ninth in the long jump and 10th in the 200 and Will Salvevold with a 10th in the 400.
Highlights for Culbertson’s seventh-grade boys included Plenny Williams with a fourth in the discus, and a sixth in the shot put, Jonas York with an eighth in the 800 and Charles Firemoon with a 10th in the 200.
Leading Culbertson’s eighth-grade girls were Ayden Ator with a first in the discus, Jade Lone Bear with an eighth in the 1600 and Catherine Donaldson with a ninth in the 1600.
Placing for Culbertson’s seventh-grade girls were Rebekah Ellerkamp with a fourth in the 1600 and eighth in the 800 and Peyton Labatte with a sixth in the shot put.
Bainville accounted for 36 points to take fourth in the eighth-grade girls’ team standings.
Hailey Berwick earned first in the 100, 200 and 400 to lead the Bulldogs. She also placed third in the long jump.
Also placing for the Bulldogs included Sienna Martinez with a seventh in the long jump and seventh in the 800 and Johnna Ryder with a seventh in the discus.
Placing for Froid/Lake included Isabelle Nordwick taking fourth in the high jump and seventh in the 400 for seventh-grade girls, Joelle Davidson placing sixth in the 800 for seventh-grade girls, Ally Johnson taking eighth in the discus for seventh- grade girls and the boys’ seventh-grade 400-meter relay team of Jacob Nordlund, Taven Jochim, Eli James and Carsen Kelm placing ninth.
