Whether it’s on the athletic field or in the classroom, Bode Miller has been a leader at Froid High School for the past four years.

He will serve as the school’s salutatorian when graduation exercises take place on Saturday, May 21.

“It might not be very good, but I got it done,” Miller said about his speech for the special day. “I’m looking forward to graduation.”

Miller has attended Froid’s school all the way from kindergarten through this year.

“When you have problems, teachers are willing to help you figure it out,” Miller said of what he appreciates about the school.

His club involvement has included Business Professionals of America and FFA.

He recently returned from the national BPA conference held in Dallas, Texas. He qualified for nationals by earning a Torch Award that requires 70 points in seven areas including: Leadership; Service; Cooperation; Knowledge; Friendship; Love, Hope, Faith; and Patriotism One of his highlights of the national conference was eating at a fancy restaurant on the 27th floor.

“I got to eat octopus,” Miller laughed. “It was pretty good.”

He has been involved in BPA throughout his high school days. He was the president for Froid’s chapter this year. “It helps you learn about computers and Excel and other programs,” Miller said of BPA.

His favorite competition in FFA was ag mechanics.

Miller’s plan is to attend Williston State College and study accounting. He wants to be an accountant for Miller Oil Co.

Athletically, Miller was a standout basketball players for the Red Hawks. One of his highlights was playing at two Class C state tournaments including this year’s state championship game.

Miller also earned All-Conference honors in baseball and will play for the Bulls again this summer. He will then play baseball at the collegiate level for Williston State College.
