Junior High Athletes Place at Meet

Lustre Christian, Frazer and Frontier all competed at the District 3C junior high track meet in Glasgow on Wednesday, May 10.

Lustre scored 118 points for second place in the boys’ division and seven points for eighth place in the girls’ division. Frontier accounted for 32 points in the boys’ division and 44 points in the girls’ division. Frazer’s girls scored four points.

Leading Lustre’s boys were Diek Olfert by taking first in the 800 at 2:38.24, first in the 1600 at 5:45.77, first in the triple jump at 32-8 and first in the long jump at 15-4.

Cameron Reddig cleared 4-10 in the high jump. Olfert placed second by also clearing 4-10.

The 400-meter relay team of Hadden Olfert, Nathan Fast, Prestyn Klatt and Reddig finished second at 58.9 seconds.

Reddig earned second in the triple jump at 29-2 and second in the long jump at 13-11. Nathan Fast took third in the discus at 94-10 and third in the shot put at 34-9. Klatt placed third in the 1600 at 5:52.83 and third in the 200-meter hurdles at 36.89 seconds. Fast finished third in the 400 at 1:09.97.

Placing fourth were Klatt in the 800 and Reddig in the 200-meter hurdles. Hadden Olfert took fifth in the 800. Taking sixth was Fast in the high jump and discus. Klatt placed seventh in the triple jump and Olfert took eighth in the discus.

Lauryn Holzrichter led Lustre’s girls by earning fourth in the 200-meter hurdles at 37.88, fifth in the high jump at 3-10, sixth in the triple jump at 24-6, seventh in the 100-meter hurdles at 21.8 and seventh in the long jump at 10-9.

Frontier

Frontier’s Daniel Merisio earned first in the discus at 109-0.

The boys’ 800-meter relay team of Damari Martinez, Keynen Grandchamp, Merisio and Jett Azure finished third at 2:29.51. The 400-meter relay team of William Benton, Grandchamp, Reilly Rees and Merisio took fourth at 1:02.99.

William Benton placed second in the discus at 103-10 and fifth in the shot put at 33-10.

Placing in the long jump were Benton in sixth at 12-4, Grandchamp in eighth at 11-8 and Martinez in ninth at 11-2.

Reilly Rees finished sixth in the 200 at 33.33. Merisio placed eighth in the shot put at 30-11. Grandchamp was 10th in the discus at 69-6 and eighth in the 100 at 15.9. Benton took 10th in the 100 at 16.04.

For Frontier’s girls, Baylee Hays placed second in the 1600 at 7:20.67, third in the shot put at 28.11, sixth in the 100 at 15.92 and eighth in the triple jump at 23-3.

Placing in the discus were Amya Martinez in third at 65-9, Riley Benton in fifth at 64-0, Francesca Crawford in eighth at 61-2 and B. Hays in 10th at 57-1. Kaylee Hays took eighth in the triple jump at 23-3 and Angela Gautam was 10th in the triple jump at 22-10 and ninth in the long jump at 10-4.

Placing in the shot put were K. Hays in fourth at 28-10, Martinez in fifth at 28-10, Riley Benton in seventh at 28-5 and Crawford in 10th at 25-1.

Harper Weeks finished sixth in the 200 at 32.30 and 10th in the 100-meter hurdles at 22.5. Kailayla Villaluz took third in the 1600 at 7:32.48.

The 800-meter relay team featuring Monica Uy, Ania Merisio, Weeks and Villaluz finished second at 2:30.7.

Frazer

Frazer’s girls’ 400-meter relay team of Maci Fourstar-Sibley, Isabelle Even, Lola Romero and Elli Mail finished fourth at 1:09.14.

Even placed seventh in the 100 at 16.23 and seventh in the 200 at 32.45. Fourstar-Sibley took 10th in the 200 at 33.46.

Leading Frazer’s boys was Cassius Smoker who took 11th in the 800 and 1600. Luis Navarro-Spotted Wolf placed 11th in the shot put.
