Wolf Point Natives Playing Positive Role At Dickinson State

Three track athletes from Wolf Point placed for Dickinson State University during the North Star Outdoor Track and Field Championships last week.

Jewel Olson finished fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.34 and sixth in the 200 at 27.84 seconds. She was part of Dickinson’s 400-meter and 1600-meter relay teams that each finished second. Dickinson’s women’s team repeated as conference champions.

Kaholo Toves placed fourth in the 200 at 23.46 seconds and took seventh in the long jump. He was part of Dickinson’s third-place 400-meter relay team.

Nick Page earned fifth in the 800 at 2:06.87 and sixth in the 400 at 52.63 seconds. He was a member of the thirdplace 1600-meter relay team.

“Those kids are fantastic kids. Every single one of them,” Dickinson’s Coach Shayne Wittkopp said. “They competed hard despite the gale force winds and rain. They are great teammates and competitors.”
