County Features Many Residents Born In-State
Roosevelt County is one of Montana’s top counties when it comes to born-and-bred residents, according to the U.S. Census Bureau data.
Roosevelt County ranks sixth with 8,433 of its 11,091 residents born in Montana. That’s a rate of 76 percent.
Of the rest of the county’s population, 13.5 percent were born in the Midwest and 6.1 percent were born in the West region. The data reports that 161 individuals or 1.45 percent were born in another country.
Blaine County tops the field with 80.1 percent of its residents being born in the Big Sky state.
Also in the top five are Liberty County at 79.1 percent, Glacier County at 79.1 percent, Big Horn County at 78.4 percent and Hill County at 76.6 percent.
Valley County ranked eighth with 5,463 or 73.6 percent of its 7,424 population born in Montana.
Phillips County is 10th at 72.4 percent of its 4,032 born in the state.
Daniels County ranks 12th at 70.9 percent and McCone County ranks 13th at 70.7 percent.
Richland County stands 30th with 57.1 percent of its 11,097 population born in Montana. Of the rest of the county’s population, 22.2 percent were born in the Midwest and 11.9 percent were born in the West region.
