The Valley County Spelling Bee was delayed, due to severe cold and blowing snow until Tuesday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m. at Lustre Christian High School. Five Lustre Grade school contestants, Coleman Hilkemann, Justin Schiller, Sidney Klatt, Cam Reddig and Aubrey Klatt, competed. Results were not available as of presstime.

The 22 Lustre Christian High School dorm students and dorm parents were in dress attire to serve those who attended their first-ever dorm fundraiser dinner at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, after church at the dining area of the LCHS. They created a festive atmosphere with hanging lights and tables decorated with small candles, evergreen cuttings, miniature frosted trees and formal dishes. The delicious meal was prepared by Toni Bell, their dorm cook. Students took the orders and served the meal complete with appetizer choices of creamy chicken tortellini soup, Caesar or Italian salad and main dishes of lasagna or chicken alfredo. Dessert was a choice of cheesecake or lava cake. Babysitting was provided with a children’s menu, making it possible for young families to attend.

Alexis Reddig was named Athlete of the Week by Hi-Line Ford of Glasgow last week, Elijah Lenihan and Jasiah Hambria were given the same honor during the season.

The LCHS girls’ basketball team will play Culbertson Wednesday, March 1, in divisional tournament action in Wolf Point.

LCHS boys will begin their tournament play Thursday, March 2, against Savage.
