Spring Hoopfest Attracts Great Turnout To Wolf Point
The 2023 Wolf Point Spring Hoopfest, under the direction of Brock Copenhaver, was a huge success with 62 teams competing in the youth basketball tournament during the weekend.
In the third-grade boys’ division, Red Cats of Wolf Point defeated Badland Hoops of Brockton by a 52-30 margin in the championship game.
The Scobey Silver Stars earned first place in the girls’ third-grade division.
Hi-Line Heat of Malta claimed the title in the fourth-grade boys’ division. The Malta squad took first place in the fourth-grade girls’ division.
In the fifth-grade boys’ division, Richey/Lambert outscored the MonDak Hawks, 34-22, for top honors. The Treasure State Warriors of Poplar, Glasgow and Lustre each had 3-1 records in the fifth-grade girls’ division. The Treasure State Warriors finished with the best point differential.
The Malta Mustangs edged Baller Express of Billings, 4540, for the sixth-grade boys’ division title.
In the sixth-grade girls’ division, the Circle Lady Cats downed the Belknap Ballers, 25-23, in the title contest.
The Gators of Sidney posted a 3-0 record for top honors in the seventh-grade boys’ division. The Mondak Misfits earned first with a 3-0 mark in the seventh-grade girls’ division. Lustre defeated Poplar, 44-33, for first place in the eighth-grade boys’ division. The Circle Wildcats earned the championship in the eighth-grade girls’ division.
