Perkins Starts School Superintendent Duties
Dr. David Perkins started on Monday, July 3, what is hopefully a successful run as the Wolf Point superintendent of schools.
After public interviews on Wednesday, May 17, Wolf Point trustees unanimously agreed to offer Perkins a salary of $130,000.
Prior to his arrival in Wolf Point, Perkins served as superintendent in Custer for 10 years. He is a native of Custer.
“I’m happy to be here,” Perkins said of starting his duties in Wolf Point. “I look forward to serving the school and community.”
His teaching career began in Noxon for three years. He then continued to teach music for seven years in Dallas, Texas.
Perkins’ experience includes 20 years as an administrator in Texas.
His wife, Sherry, will teach a fifthgrade class in Wolf Point.
Wolf Point returns three returning administrators this school year including Kim Hanks at the high school, Georgie Gourneau at Northside and Tara Thomas at Southside. Dan Horsmon is the new principal at the junior high school.
