A long-time successful business in Wolf Point has now reopened its doors. Bethany Toews is pleased to be the new owner/agent of Squires Insurance in Wolf Point.
Toews resumed office hours at 406 Main St. on Monday, July 17. She purchased the business after owner Joan Peters unexpectedly died in April. The business was started by William and Ina Claire Squires.
“I know that Joan was excellent, meticulous and knowledgeable in her career. It is my goal to continue to run Squires and provide the same quality service that clients have come to know since 1978,” Toews said. “I appreciate your patience through this transition.”
Irene Tjon, long-time friend and co-worker of Joan Peters, will work at the office during the transition phase. She kept the day-to-day business going since Joan’s death.
“Irene is an integral part of the operation of Squires Insurance, and I am very grateful that she will be staying through the transition and hopefully longer if I can talk her into it,” Toews said. “I have learned many aspects of insurance since starting and it is my goal to understand the needs of my customers and make sure their coverage is adequate while being competitive in the marketplace.”
Bethany grew up in Huntley Project. She married Wolf Point native Josh Toews. They have five children. Josh is a loan officer at Opportunity Bank and they live south of Wolf Point where they run a cow/calf operation.
She says her hobbies include camping and spending time with the children.
She has been a certified general appraiser for Warren Land and Livestock for 15 years. She specializes in farm and ranch appraisals.
At Squires Insurance, she will handle property and casualty services for home, auto and farm policies.
“It really fits in well with some of the work I’ve already done in appraiser services. I wanted to keep Squires going,” Toews said. “I am excited about taking on this venture and to putting in the work for the continued success of this business.”
Squires is partnered with Montana Agency Alliance and has access to many carriers including Safeco, Progressive, Liberty Mutual, All State, Travelers and many more. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays. The office’s phone number is 406653-1460.
