Sheridan Electric Donates To Area Schools

Each year, your cooperative has a certain amount of unclaimed capital credits. These credits can only be used for educational purposes. So far this year, the board has approved $120,000 in donations to the schools within our service territory. Basin Electric has graciously matched a portion of these donations in the amount of $50,000.

If these unclaimed capital credits, go unused they are required to be turned over to the state. Some of the projects these funds will be used for are locker room remodels, floor waxing, lighting upgrades and new playground equipment.

By utilizing these unclaimed capital credits for the schools in our service territory our board is following one of the 7 cooperative principles, concern for community. Without the schools in our area, our membership numbers would go down.
