Evelyn Cameron Cowgirl Heritage Days Planned
A celebration of the lifestyle that pioneer photographer Evelyn Cameron fell in love with over 100 years ago is planned in Terry at the Prairie County Fairground Sept. 22-24.
The first Cowgirl Heritage Days will take place in the charming eastern Montana town along the Yellowstone River in the heart of moss agate country and the Terry badlands.
Heritage Days will celebrate the cowgirl lifestyle and tradition through many hands-on workshops and clinics and an indoor/outdoor Western tradeshow. The festivities will kick-off with a barbecue meet and greet presentation at the Evelyn Cameron Heritage Center, which will take you back into the history of Cameron’s life and her impact on the Terry area. Friday will start the threeday horsemanship clinic with Cody Deering and a threeday working cow dog clinic with Frankie Acosta at the Prairie County Fairgrounds.
Professional photographer Kristen Schurr will conduct a two-day Western photography workshop with a bucking horse photo session included.
A leather belt making class with Chelsea Sazama and a barn quilt class taught by Mary Jo Schmidt on Saturday and Sunday.
A hand gun safety and shooting clinic will be facilitated by Russell Holt at the fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
On Saturday evening, people are encouraged to take in the Prairie County Hospital’s “Fun 4 All” happening on main street. The event includes a fundraiser drawing with prizes and music.
Registration is required to participate in clinics and workshops. Spots are limited. The deadline to sign up for clinics and workshops is Aug. 31. To register and for the latest news on trade show vendors, workshops and clinics, visit the Evelyn Cameron Cowgirl Heritage Facebook page.
Proceeds from this event will go towards Evelyn Cameron Heritage, Inc.
