Poplar Runners Earn Honors At Sidney Meet

Poplar placed fifth in the boys’ division during the Sidney Invitational cross country meet held on Saturday, Oct. 7.

The Indians finished with 115 points. The top three teams were Miles City with 44, Glendive with 56 and Sidney with 92 points.

Eljin Grey Bear led the Indians by earning 10th place with a time of 18:20.8.

Geordy Medicine Cloud placed 16th at 19:03.0. Right behind was Wilder Bearcub in 17th place at 19:06.7.

Navarjo Escarcega took 42nd place at 20:44.2. Dane Moran finished 43rd at 20:59.7.

In the girls’ division, Poplar earned fourth place with 97 points. Top teams included Miles City with 41, Sidney with 83 and Glasgow with 91 points.

Miles City’s Peyton Frame was the overall girls’ winner with a time of 19:54.9.

Poplar’s sophomore Kacie Colgan finished 11th at 21:58.3. Blake Follette placed 14th at 22:13.2.

Mattie Falls Down was 19th at 22;37.1.

Kellyn Azure placed 29th at 24:03.0. Alara Parshall was 31st at 24:23.8.

Amelia Weeks placed 33rd with a time of 24:27.6.

The Indians will compete at the Harlem Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13.
