Culbertson Trustees Approve Roof Project
The Culbertson School Board approved a bid for the elementary roof project during its meeting held on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
Thiel Brothers Roofing of Sidney offered a 45-mil membrane with a 15-year warranty for $120,779 or a 75-mil membrane with a 25-year warranty for $131,249. Trustee Paul Finnicum made a motion to approve the 75-mil membrane for $131,249. The motion passed unanimously.
Nick Kallem was hired as EMT teacher for CTE courses offered second and third trimesters for one period a day. Salary would be commensurate with class time.
Trustees were requested to prioritize five board goals for consideration and summation.
Finnicum made a motion to form a five-member committee to develop the parameters for an alumni scholarship in the amount of $500 to be awarded to applicants pursuing a teaching degree. The motion carried unanimously.
Hired as guest teachers were Joy Johnson, Stephanie Newbill and Lenore Armijo. Lori Jasper was hired as a bus monitor.
Extra-curricular hires included Kenneth Jasper for elementary boys’ basketball assistant coach, Janelle Ator for high school girls’ basketball assistant coach and Jimie Lou Morris for junior high boys’ basketball assistant coach.
High school graduation was approved to take part at 1 p.m. on May 18.
