Poplar Library Hosts  Pumpkin Contest Poplar Library Hosts  Pumpkin Contest

 

A book character pumpkin decorating contest is being held at the James E. Shanley Tribal Library in Poplar.

The contest is open through Oct. 27. The circulation desk is taking entries. No carving is allowed. Participants are invited to paint, dress and accessorize their gourdes to approximate book characters, but no actual carving will be permitted.

Entries can be submitted by individuals and family groups.

Voting will take place on the group’s Facebook page starting Oct. 27. Winners will be notified Nov. 1 Additional events scheduled at the library this month include Community Craft and Homemade Heating Pads Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. and the Teen Democracy Project Oct. 26. The Cookbook Club meets Sunday at 6 p.m. and Children’s Storytime & Crafts will be hosted at 10:30 a.m. on Halloween.
