Indians Lose Against Glasgow
The Poplar Indians saw their season come to an end in a hard-fought match against Glasgow at the District 2B volleyball tournament in Glasgow on Friday, Oct. 27.
Glasgow won by a 25-19, 2725, 25-22 final.
A kill by Kessee Erickson helped Poplar gain a 15-14 lead in the first set.
The score was even at 1818, but Glasgow pulled away with four straight points.
Down by a 16-12 margin in the second half, the Indians fought back on kills by Rikki Belton and Braelyn Nordwick. A serve by Cammie Martell put Poplar ahead by a 17-16 margin.
The net play of Rikki Belton and EmmaRae Martell kept Poplar ahead at 20-19.
Poplar grabbed a 24-23 lead on kills by E. Martell and Belton, but the Scotties moved ahead 25-24. After Belton accounted for a kill for a 25-25 deadlock, Glasgow won the final two points.
The serving of E. Martell and net play of Erickson put Poplar ahead 18-15 in the third set. Two kills by Nordwick produced a 20-18 advantage.
After the Scotties took the lead, Erickson tied the score, 22-22, with a kill. Glasgow then tallied the final three points.
