Froid/Lake Girls Return Three Starters Heading Into Season
With three starters returning from last season’s divisional team, the Froid/Lake’s girls’ basketball squad are working toward another successful season.
The Red Hawks lost their top scorers and rebounders from last year’s squad, but returning starters include senior Jaeleigh Davidson, junior Mara Salvevold and junior Brooklyn Nordwick.
Froid/Lake coach Josh Stentoft is pleased with the turnout of 12 girls this season.
Other girls with a good amount of varsity playing experience include freshman Isabelle Nordwick, junior Alexa Nelson, junior Addison Elvaas and sophomore Avery Johnson.
Lilly Johnson, a 5-9 sophomore, freshman Keira Stentoft and freshman Jordyn Breuer are also expected to step up for bigger roles this season.
“They all should play a lot,” Stentoft said. The coach appreciates the attitude of his young team. Davidson is the lone senior on the team.
“We have a lot of girls who will hustle,” Stentoft said,. He feels Plentywood, Bainville and Savage are the league favorites heading into the season.
“There won’t be any easy games,” Stentoft said.
