Wolf Point Girls Take Browning JVs
Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball squad fought off Browning’s JVs by a 39-31 final on Saturday, Dec. 2.
The Wolves jumped out to a 15-2 margin in the game’s opening quarter. Five straight points by Keeley Blount-Henderson got the Wolves off to a good start.
After Juellz Bauer scored on a layup, Azalei Ackerman hit a pull-up jumper for a 9-0 advantage.
Ahead by a 9-2 margin, the Wolves increased their lead to 15-2 on three-pointers by Kashlynn Speak Thunder and Blount-Henderson.
Wolf Point held a 27-7 half-time lead, but Browning closed the margin to 34-22 during the third quarter.
Browning got as close as 36-31, but a three-pointer by Ackerman put the Wolves up 39-31 with only 14 seconds left.
Ackerman led the attack with 13 points. Blount-Henderson finished the game with 12 points. Speak Thunder finished with two three-pointers. Also scoring were Amya Martinez with two, Ameliya Doney with two, Karmyn Plain Feather with two and Bauer with two.
The Wolves will compete at a tournament in Lockwood on Friday, Dec. 8, and Saturday, Dec. 9.
