Eymard Shines In Roles At School
Wolf Point High School senior Del Eymard has been entertaining audiences and obtaining honors with his dramatic abilities throughout his time at the school.
Eymard said he first got involved in acting when a play had an opening during his freshman year. He noted that he participated in junior high holiday plays, so he thought he would give acting a chance.
Since that time, Eymard has played many large roles in Wolf Point’s plays. It seems that his characters are usually on the comical side, which suits him just fine.
“It’s awesome. It’s great to make everybody happy,” Eymard said of when he hears laughter during plays.
His favorite play was Arsenic and Old Lace held last spring. “It was a fun play and our teacher really liked it,” Eymard explained.
Despite his experience, he says he still gets nervous prior to performances. “It’s part of it,” he said.
He was been a key part of Wolf Point’s speech and drama team during the past four years. A highlight was earning state championship honors in humorous theater with Daniel Sears when Eymard was a sophomore.
“I was very pleased with it,” Eymard said. “I learned a lot that year from my friend. He taught me how to perform.”
This season, Eymard is participating in dramatic theater with teammate Quiarrah Rios.
“It’s ambitious, but I’d like to go for state again,” Eymard said.
He credits teacher Jacob Boysun for doing a good job of getting students excited about the speech and drama team.
Eymard also has a love of music and sings with the school’s swing choir.
His favorite classes are swing choir and drama. Eymard says his favorite teacher is Russell Johnson in the music department. “He goes out of his way for us,” Eymard said. “He’s good to talk with.”
Eymard is undecided about his plans after high school, but he is looking forward to sharing his talents for the rest of his senior year.
