Wolf Point Comes Up Short Against Lodge Grass
The Wolf Point Wolves put up a good battle but lost to a strong Lodge Grass boys’ basketball squad, 64-58, in Lockwood on Saturday, Dec. 10.
The hot-shooting Lodge Grass led by a 15-11 margin at the end of the first quarter. Peyton Summers scored five of Wolf Point’s points in the quarter.
Wolf Point tallied 16 points in the second quarter. Lodge Grass accounted for 20 points for a 35-27 advantage. Wolf Point’s Cade Stafne scored seven points in the period.
The Wolves outscored Lodge Grass 14-13 points in the third quarter. Summers scored five points in the frame.
Stafne hit two three-pointers as the Wolves scored 17 points in the final period.
Wolf Point’s top scorers were Summers with 18 and Stafne with 16 points.
Also scoring for the Wolves were DJ Fischer with eight, Jack Kolstad with four, Chief Stafne with three, Richard Campbell with three and Lennoxx Lilley with two points.
Leading Lodge Grass were Myron Littlelight with 15 and Lance Little Nest with 13 points.
“It will be a good couple weeks of practice to get ready for our first conference game of the year against Glasgow,” Wolf Point Coach Cole Hanks said.
