Frazer Girls Edge Dodson
Frazer knocked off Dodson, 71-56, in girls’ basketball action on Saturday, Jan. 6.
The first half was tight as the Bearcubs trailed 19-17 at the end of the first quarter and 35-30 at the half.
Frazer moved ahead with 25 points in the third quarter for a 55-50 advantage. Shakira Beston hit three three-pointers in the third quarter.
The Bearcubs then outscored Dodson by a 16-6 margin in the fourth period. Maci Fourstar-Sibley scored six points in the quarter.
Fourstar-Sibley finished with 26 points and S. Beston accounted for 25 points to lead the Bearcubs.
Isabelle Fourstar added 12 points. Also scoring were Baily Beston with four and Angelina White with two points.
Kataya KillEagle scored 30 points for Dodson. Also reaching double figures were Jazlyn KillEagle with 11 and Baylee Johnson with 10 points.
In the boys’ game, Dodson won by a 75-48 final. The Coyotes gained a 29-13 lead in the first quarter.
Frazer’s top scorers were Gabriel Beston with 17, Joseph Beston with 15 and Ty Fourstar with 13 points. Travis Long had five points.
Leading Dodson were Junior Stiffarm with 26, Donovan Posey with 16 and Sebastian Best with 14 points.
