Fischer Sets Sights On Goals

The highlights of high school for Wolf Point High School senior DJ Fischer have included accomplishments on the athletic field.

Fischer started for four years at offensive left guard for Wolf Point’s football team.

He said a positive memory was losing by only six points against Malta in 2022. He said that’s the closest that the Wolves have come to beating Malta in about 20 years.

Fischer also has starting experience in basketball for the Wolves. He is a two-year varsity player for Wolf Point.

He remembers placing third at his first basketball tournament ever when he was only about 6 years old.

Highlights for him included averaging 15 points a game at the sub varsity level as a freshman.

This season, Fischer scored a varsity career high of 13 points.

“My goals are trying to work on my game and make it past districts,” Fischer said.

As far as academics, he hopes to keep his grades up so he graduates this May.

His favorite class is English taught by Douglas Evans.

“I like writing essays,” Fischer said. “He makes learning easier with his Power Points and plots.”

His favorite teacher is Lori Sandee. “He’s nice and caring. She helps me and my friends. She is a good person,” Fischer said.

After high school, Fischer plans to work for a couple of years and then maybe attend Haskell Indian Nations University in Kansas. He is unsure of his career path.
