Wolves Fall Short In Fairview
Wolf Point’s boys’ basketball squad lost a conference game by a 73-50 margin in Fairview on Friday, Jan. 19.
The Warriors gained an 18-13 lead in the first quarter. Wolf Point’s Jack Kolstad hit two three-pointers in the period.
Fairview’s Landen Thompson scored eight points in the second quarter to put the Warriors up 34-24 at the half.
Fairview outscored the Wolves by a 20-10 margin in the third quarter. Jeff Tjelde accounted for 12 points for Fairview in the period. Fairview added 19 more points in the fourth period for the league win.
Top scorers for the Wolves were Payton Summers with 14, Cade Stafne with 12 and Kolstad with 10 points.
Also scoring were Richard Campbell with seven, Lennoxx Lilley with four, DJ Fischer with two and Zandon Calder with one point.
Tjelde finished with 36 points including five three-pointers. Thompson scored 17 and Tyler Loan had 10 points.
The Wolves will travel to Scobey for non-conference action on Friday, Jan. 26, and host Glasgow for a league contest on Saturday, Jan. 27.
