Brockton Falls Against Culbertson
Culbertson swept home conference basketball games against Brockton on Saturday, Feb. 3.
The Cowgirls jumped ahead early and defeated Brockton by a 52-33 final.
Culbertson gained an 18-9 in the first quarter and increased the margin to 34-15 at the half.
Destiny Thompson enjoyed an outstanding game for the Cowgirls with 28 points.
Adding seven points each were Mariana Burciaga, Emma Berwick and Ivy Colvin. Also scoring were Ayden Ator with two and Leandra Perkins with a point.
Ava Lone Bear scored 12 points for the Warriors. Tamryn Bauer and Taylor Cummins added seven points each.
Also scoring for Brockton were KayJay First That Walks with two, Aiyanna Eder with two points, Clara Clampitt with two points and RayKira Track with one point.
The Cowboys broke away in the third quarter to win by a 48-38 final.
Brockton led by a 23-22 half-time margin, but Culbertson scored 18 points in the third quarter for a 40-27 advantage.
Nyreece Halvorson scored 13 points to lead the Cowboys.
Also scoring for Culbertson were Donte Eagle Boy with eight, Gavin Deen with eight, Ian Snyder with seven, Mark Kirkaldie with six, Dawson Bergum with four and Micah Eagle Boy with two.
Brockton’s top scorers were Jarid Fast Horse with 12 and Quincy Belgarde with 11 points.
Rounding out the scoring were Josh Firemoon with seven, Wambidi Yellowhammer with six and Ronnie Black Dog with two points.
