Lady Wolves Place Fourth At Tournament

Wolf Point’s girls’ basketball team dropped a 52-28 decision in the District 2B tournament’s third-place game on Saturday, Feb. 17.

The Wolves opened the game with the first basket by Kashlyn Speak Thunder off a pass from Keeley Blount-Henderson.

Fairview accounted for the final 12 points of the period including four by Kallee Hopes.

Fairview increased the margin to 21-11, but Wolf Point scored on a free throw by Ameliya Doney and a basket by Speak Thunder to trail 21-10 at intermission.

Two baskets by Juellz Bauer highlighted play for the Wolves in the third quarter. Fairview led 40-18 at the end of the period.

Marley Moran led the Wolves with seven points.

Bauer, Blount-Henderson, Speak Thunder and Doney each scored four points. Also scoring were Brenna Blount with three and Ali Corpron with two points.

Leading the Warriors were Hopes with 17 and Carly Buxbaum with 11 points.
