Area Athletes Compete At Scobey Invitational Track Meet In Wolf Point Saturday, April 13
Athletes from Culbertson, Froid/Lake and Bainville enjoyed success during the Scobey Invitational track meet held in Wolf Point on Saturday, April 13.
Culbertson scored 33 points in the boys’ division for seventh place and 20 points for ninth place in the girls’ division.
Culbertson’s Plenny Williams earned first in the discus at 127-10. The freshman took 10th in the shot put at 35-10.
Brooks Solem placed second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 50.25 and Aden Drake took fourth at 52.75 seconds.
Solem placed fifth in the triple jump with a best of 36-0 and sixth in the javelin at 134-6. Moon took seventh in the long jump with a mark of 17-4.
Both of Culbertson’s boys’ relay teams placed fourth. The 400 team of Harrison Green, Reese Moon, Ian Snyder and Bridger Salvevold ran a time of 47.47. The 1600 relay of Drake, Cal Steppler, Green and Williams finished in 4:23.62.
Placing in the 100 were Snyder in seventh, Moon in ninth ant Green in 10th. Snyder took 10th place in the 200. Steppler finished ninth in the 1600.
The Cowgirls scored 30 points at the meet.
Destiny Thompson earned fourth in the javelin at 90-0, ninth in the long jump at 13-6 and fourth in the 100 at 14.02 seconds.
Ivy Colvin finished sixth in the 400 at 1:18.00. Rebekah Ellerkamp was eighth at 1:23.11 and Serenity Wilbanks took 10th at 1:27.84. Ellerkamp finished seventh in the 1600 at 7:24.13. Bella Peterson placed eighth in the 200 at 31.10. Payton Labatte took eighth in the 100-meter hurdles at 21.04 seconds.
Jazzmin Fugere placed fifth in the shot put at 28-4. Leandra Perkins took seventh at 27-1 and Labatte placed 10th at 26-4. Fugere had a mark of 83-7 for sixth place in the javelin.
Placing in the discus were Emma Berwick in eighth at 73-6, Fugere in ninth at 71-5 and Ayden Ator in 10th at 6810.
Culbertson’s girls’ 1600meter relay team of Jade LoneBear, Wilbanks, Stella Fox and Ellerkamp placed third at 5:52.65. The 400-meter relay team of Colvin, Berwick, Peterson and Thompson took seventh at 59.24 seconds.
Froid/Lake’s boys scored 42 points for sixth place in the team standings.
Mason Dethman had a strong meet for the Red Hawks. The senior finished first in the 400 with a time of 55.32 seconds. Dethman placed second in the 200 at 24.58, second in the shot put at 41-8, second in the discus at 123-4 and fourth in the 100 at 12.23 seconds.
Brennen Roseleip finished fourth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 25.47 seconds.
Leading Froid/Lake’s girls was Leah Murray with a 10th in the 800 and 16th in the javelin.
Bainville accounted for 20 points in the girls’ division and two points in the boys’ division.
Elsie Wilson placed first in the 100 at 13.50, fourth in the 800 at 2:51.65, fourth in the 100-meter hurdles at 18.21 and fifth in the long jump in 15-5.
Charles Butikofer was seventh in the shot put at 37-1 and eighth in the javelin at 124-10. Samuel Butikofer placed ninth in the javelin at 122-2.
Isaiah Bjorge finished fifth in the 400 at 58.26. Reese Harmon took eighth at 1:01.01 and Keegan Vaira took 10th at 1:01.74. Harmon placed ninth in the 800 at 2:14.91.
The 400-meter relay team of Vaira, Bjorge, C. Butikofer and S. Butikofer placed seventh at 50.40.
