Summers Claims New School Records At Sidney Track Meet
School track record performances by Peyton Summers led Wolf Point at the Sidney Invitational on Saturday, April 20.
Summers was pushed by Thomas Haskins of Williston, N.D., for most of the 3200-meter run before the Wolf Point runner pulled away on the last lap. Summers, a senior, ran the distance in 9:35.25 for a new school record.
Summers then ran the 1600 in 4:28.92 for first place and another school record.
Charles Page placed sixth in the shot put with a mark of 40-9.
Maddox Reum took ninth in the 200 and 11th in the 100.
Michael Bell took 10th in the shot put at 40-9. Sean Hamilton was 12th and Page took 19th in the discus. Hamilton was 17th in the javelin.
In the girls’ division, Marley Moran was 12th in the javelin and 25th in the shot put. Harper Weeks took 22nd in the high jump and 24th in the 100-meter hurdles. Ali Corpron took 23rd in the discus.
Adalynn Smith finished 17th in the 400 and 24th in the 200. She was 27th in the long jump. Navella Weeks was 25th in the 200.
Top boys’ teams at the large meet were Williston with 95, Glendive with 78.5 and Glasgow with 66 points.
Leading the girls’ standings were Williston with 99, Scobey with 84 and Miles City 61.4 points.
The Wolves will compete in Lambert on Thursday, April 25.
