Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriffs Office responded to 90 calls from April 28 through May 5. Highlights include: April 28
At 11:40 a.m., a deputy responded to Fort Kipp for a report of a domestic disturbance. The suspect was an adult male who had fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Deputies sought a warrant from tribal court for the male for partner/ family member assault and false imprisonment. The Montana Highway Patrol assisted.
At 1 p.m., a deputy assisted the Montana Highway Patrol with a traffic stop near Town Pump in Wolf Point. An adult male was arrested on tribal charges and the vehicle was towed.
At 7:30 p.m., a deputy assisted Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice on the 1000 block of West Cascade Street in Wolf Point with a domestic disturbance in which two adult sisters were arguing. The women were advised to go their separate ways and they complied.
April 29
A deputy received a report of harassment at 1:23 a.m. in Poplar. An adult male and an adult female were arguing. Deputies provided extra patrol.
A deputy responded to a call for assistance from a Fort peck Tribes Road Department crew working near Fort Kipp at 10:19 a.m. A highly intoxicated male was throwing rocks at the crew and their equipment. Since the male had an active warrant for his arrest, he was taken to the Fort Peck Tribal Jail. No injuries were reported.
At 1:06 p.m., the Culbertson School reported an unruly student. The deputy contacted the state juvenile prosecutor and was recommended to not charge the juvenile due to his young age. The deputy did notify Child and Family Services Central Intake.
At 10 p.m., a deputy assisted a Wolf Point Police Department officer with a partner/ family member assault situation at an apartment on Main Street in Wolf Point. The WPPD cited Drake Azure on several charges.
April 30
A deputy was dispatched to Brockton at 10:42 p.m. for a report of an assault in progress. The deputy and FPTDLJ responded to the residence. Upon arrival, they found all the windows boarded up and no signs of distress were heard inside.
May 2
A 16-year-old juvenile at the Froid School was cited into Montana State Juvenile Court for possession of a vaping device at 11:30 a.m.
At 2:30 p.m., a deputy responded to the B& S Quick Stop in Brockton for a disturbance reported by the store’s employees. An adult male was allegedly drinking alcohol in public and harassing the store’s customers and staff. The deputy was unable to locate the suspect since the male had left on his own prior to the deputy’s arrival.
A report of two males fighting in the field near the Chief Redstone Indian Health Service Clinic was received at 3:40 p.m. One male was injured and both were transported by ambulance to the hospital. WPPD, FPTDLJ and RCSO all responded. One adult male was charged and transported to the tribal jail.
At 7:15 p.m., a deputy responded to assist the FPTDLJ with a male causing a scene at the Poplar Hospital. The male had been involved in a car wreck at the roundabout in Poplar and had become combative at the hospital. He was treated and later charged by the FPTDLJ with driving under the influence.
May 3
The FPTDLJ and RCSO responded at 11 p.m. to Fort Kipp for a disorderly female. Devyn Lizotte, 21, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest by the FPTDLJ and transported to the tribal jail.
May 4
RCSO assisted the FPTDLJ and the Poplar ambulance at 4:10 p.m. near the Buckhorn Bar in Poplar with a male who had been assaulted. He was transported to the hospital.
May 5
A possible burglary was reported on the 300 block of Eureka Street at 6:05 a.m. A deputy assisted the FPTDLJ with notifying the business owner and taking a report. Someone had attempted to pry open a door.
