Nygard Honored As Co-Female Athlete At DSU

Wolf Point native Tori Nygard has been selected Dickinson State University’s co-female senior athlete of the year.

She broke the school record in the hammer throw last year and placed 14th at the NAIA national meet.

Nygard is ranked top 10 in her career in Dickinson for the javelin, hammer throw and weight throw. She took second in the weight throw during the conference indoor meet this year.

Nygard shared the female senior athlete of the year award with softball standout Dallis Mitchell.

Nygard is a national qualifier in the weight throw and the hammer throw. Her performance and work ethic has been a constant over the last two seasons and has helped her event group become the best in the nation. She has been an All-Conference performer in three events.
