Poplar Qualifies Three For State Track

The Poplar Indians earned 10 points in the boys’ division and eight points in the girls’ division during the Northern B divisional track meet held in Glasgow on Friday and Saturday, May 17-18.

The highlight for the Indians was Adrien Matuck capturing first place in the long jump. The senior took first with a mark of 19-4.

Two Poplar girls qualified for the Class B state meet as well.

Kessee Erickson, a senior, earned third place in the discus with a best of 99-6.

Kacie Colgan, a sophomore, finished the 3200-meter run in 12:48.03 for fifth place.

Just missing qualifying for state by placing seventh were Raylando Red Eagle in the 3200 and Erickson in the shot put.
