The 27th annual benefit golf tournament for the NEMHS Charitable Foundation was a hit at the Wolf Point Airport Golf Course on Saturday, June 22.

The scramble attracted 21 teams including golfers from Wolf Point, Poplar, Vida and Glasgow.

“It’s good representation of the areas that we cover,” foundation executive director Brandi Lynn Wilkinson said. “I’m definitely happy with that.”

A highlight of this year’s event was a ping pong ball drop with Dallas Aero and Sales performing the service. The person with the lucky ball closest to the target won half of the pot and the foundation kept the other half. The drop returned to the event after being gone since 2017.

Meals included breakfast pastries donated by Blackbird Mercantile and Sutton’s Sweet Crumb and hot dogs donated by Broken Horn Meats. Supper featured steaks from Main Street Grocery.

Wilkinson said projects that the foundation are working on include the addition of vein finders at each lab, new lab stools and seat cushions for wheelchairs at Faith Home.

Another goal is creating reflection locations to pray or peaceful moments of thought in Wolf Point, Poplar and Faith Home.

Foundation board members include Jonathon Thompson as chair, Mickey Copenhaver as vice chair, Sandi Mason as secretary/treasurer along with directors Kerry Cash, Garrett Reid, Dolly Tattoo, Marjorie Youpee, Jamie Reum and Erica Reid.

“I’m very thankful for the board that I have,” Wilkinson said. “I’m very pleased with the support that the community gives the foundation.”
