TEB Approves Casino Loan, WPCO Celebration
The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board held their regular meeting June 24 in Poplar.
Following approval of the agenda and administrative items, the board approved Stevie Kirn to be moved from temporary employee to permanent status. Fort Peck, Inc. was approved for $5 million in loans for the casino project at 3.5 percent interest.
The board approved a MOU between the Fort Peck Tribes and Three Affiliated Tribes to house juveniles.
A request was approved for a permit for Boyd Fireworks to start June 17 to July 4 at 11:59 p.m.
The Fort Peck Sioux Council and the Fort Peck Assiniboine Council were added to the annual budget, with $5,000 allocated to each group.
The Wolf Point Community Organization was approved as a recognized powwow with equal distribution of funds.
The regional state opioid and naloxone distribution program provider agreement was approved.
HPDP was approved to purchase a block of rooms for July 6-12 to accommodate the volunteers of Three Tree Cowboy Church.
The board approved a grant submission by Fort Peck Community College to the Centers For Disease Control, funding package known as “Good Health and Wellness in Indian Country.”
The Fort Peck Tribal Executive Board is the duly elected body representing the Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes of the Fort Peck Reservation. The next full board meeting is July 8.
