Governor’s Cup Held At Fort Peck

Owen Wilcox of Laurel and Ziek Gordon of Bozeman captured top honors at the Montana Governor’s Cup 2024 Walleye Tournament held at Fort Peck during the weekend.

The Wilcox/Gordon team earned first with a final weight of 85.41 pounds including 52.28 pounds on the second day. The team was in seventh place after the first day of fishing.

The Wisconsin team of Joe Okada and Brett King led after the first day with 50.94 pounds and placed second overall with 64.97 pounds.

Brien Phipps and Clyde Phipps of Jordan took third place at 61.76 pounds.

Hilton Jackson and Jackson Oberg of Rapid City, S.D., placed fourth at 59.63 pounds.

Tucker Lien of Nashua and Tom Kobza of Billings placed fifth at 56.7 pounds.

Taking sixth were Cody Martinez of Winnett and Gordon Gage of Belgrade at 55.51 pounds. Wayne Wilcox of Laurel and Chris Grotjohn of Belgrade placed seventh at 54.5 pounds.

Nate Chappell of Miles City and Mike Chappell of Glasgow earned eighth at 52.43 pounds. Lance Kresge of Bozeman and Dale Persons of Deer Lodge took ninth at 52.22 pounds.

Placing 10th at 51.84 pounds were Chad Knox and Brad Knox of Ray, N.D.
