Rodeo Features Strong Performances

Area rodeo fans enjoyed three days of PRCA action during the Wolf Point Wild Horse Stampede on Thursday, July 11, through Saturday, July 13.

Tucker Zingg of Crow Agency was the winner in bareback riding with a score of 84.0. Daniel Jones of Duffield, Alberta, placed second at 83.5, and Clayton Moss of Soap Lake, Wash., took third at 82.5. East Helena’s Will Norstrom earned fourth at 81.5 and Corvallis’ Caleb Bennett was fifth at 80.0.

Kolby Wanchuck of Sherwood Park, Alberta, came away with top honors in saddle bronc with a score of 89.5. Anaconda’s Chase Brooks placed second at 85.5 and Tyrel Roberts of Charlie Lake, British Columbia, earned third at 85.

Bighorn’s Colton Whitt captured first in bull riding with a winning score of 88.0. Brody Yeary of Stephenville, Texas, took second at 86. Caleb McCaslin of Jones, Okla., and Stefan Tonita of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, tied for third at 81.

Eugene Piloto of Botucatu, S.D., earned first in tie-down roping with a time of 9.1 seconds. Big Timber’s Landon Williams placed second at 9.6 and Big Timber’s Nathan Ruth took third at 9.8. Cash Enderli of Liberty, Texas, finished fourth at 10.0 and Dillon’s Kevin Peterson was fifth at 10.1.

Belgrade’s Caden Camp and Hamilton’s Kris Anderson shared top honors in steer wrestling with times of 4.6 seconds. Hardin’s Trevin Baumann placed third at 5.1 seconds. Lewistown’s Brady Boyce finished fourth at 5.7 and Great Falls’ Cole Denton took fifth at 5.9 seconds.

Dawson Graham and Dillon Graham claimed the team roping title with a time of 5.2 seconds. Talan Cummins and Casey Cummins took second at 5.9. Cameron Handy of Recluse, Wyo., and Nick Albrecht of Sheridan, Wyo., placed third at 6.3 seconds.

Hysham’s Tiffany Ogren earned first in breakaway roping at 2.8 seconds. Birney’s Jamie Haigh placed second at 3.0 and ReAnn Crane of Whitewood, S.D., took third at 3.1 seconds. Pryor’s Sarah Verheist was fourth at 3.2 and Cut Bank’s Sammy Bird placed fifth at 3.3 seconds.

Forsyth’s Trisha Larsen was the winner in barrel racing with a time of 17.31 seconds. Melstone’s Kierra Hougen finished second at 17.67 and Chinook’s Brittney Cox took third at 17.83 seconds. Arlee’s Tammy Stedman was fourth at 17.89 and Cut Bank’s Tia Murphy took fifth at 17.9 seconds.
