Fairs Being Planned Throughout Area

It’s getting close to fair time in eastern Montana.

Organizers with the Roosevelt County Fair have announced a car and tractor show for Thursday, Aug. 8. The event will run from 4 to 7 p.m. Categories include vintage cars, people’s choice and antique tractors.

All makes and models are welcome and admission is free. Participants are expected to RSVP by Aug. 1. For more information, call 406-787-5881 or visit rooseveltcountyfair. org.

The Roosevelt County Fair will feature equine events at the Culbertson Saddle Club on Tuesday, Aug. 6. People can enjoy a family fun night on Wednesday, Aug. 7, which includes a small animal show, kids’ farmers market, money in the straw, a youth barn dance and tournament.

On the schedule for Thursday, Aug. 8, are a goat and sheep show, corn feed and FFA barbecue, shorty dog races, circus acts, stick horse and inflatable rodeo and a farmers market. A free concert with Adam Calvert is set for is Friday, Aug. 9. Other activities on Friday will include the livestock auction, the parade of exhibits, swine and cattle show and a magic show.

The Richland County Fair and Rodeo is scheduled for July 31 through Aug. 3 in Sidney. Highlights include a concert by Rodney Atkins with special guest Jerrod Niemann on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The PRCA rodeo is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1, and Friday, Aug 2, in Sidney. In addition, free shows are offered daily.

The Northeast Montana Fair is planned for Aug. 6-10 in Glasgow. The PRCA rodeo and wild horse race are set for Tuesday, Aug. 6, and Wednesday, Aug. 7. A demolition derby is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10.

The Daniels County Fair in Scobey is Aug. 1-4. Ricochet will perform in concert on Saturday, Aug. 3. A NRA rodeo is scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 1, and a ranch rodeo is planned for Friday, Aug. 2. A demolition derby will take place on Sunday, Aug. 4.
