Young Participants Win Honors During Kids Fishing Day
The Montana Governor’s Cup Kids Fishing Tournament featured a good amount of entries at Fort Peck on Saturday, July 13. Poplar’s Wesson Smith was the winner in the 5-and-under age division with a weight of .94 pounds. Tying for second at .70 pounds were Circle’s Flynn Loudon and Glasgow’s Wyatt Clark. Easton Forest placed fourth at .68 pounds and Havre’s Brantley Normandy took fifth at .56 pounds.
Glasgow’s Brenton Knight was the winner in the 6-7 division at 1.92 pounds. Ivan Sykora of Baxter, Minn., took second at .96 pounds. Glasgow’s Sage Clark placed third at .90 pounds.
Tying for fourth at .76 pounds were Glasgow’s Tadum Hilborn and Poplar’s Urijah Azure.
In the 8-9 age division, Glasgow’s Ledger Kaufman captured first with 4.40 pounds. That amount included the largest fish, a large mouth bass weighing 3.94 pounds.
Reserve’s Colt Marsh placed second at .90 pounds. Glasgow’s Leila Lecki was third at .76 pounds, Glasgow’s Hunter Clark was fourth at .74 pounds and Ollie Sykora of Baxter, Minn., took fifth at .70 pounds.
Wolf Point’s Ava Ryan and Nashua’s Tenzin Gonzalez tied for sixth at .62 pounds.
Cuyler Williams of Crosby, N.D., earned first in the 10-11 age division at 1.20 pounds. Glasgow’s Josiah Hernandez took second at .96 pounds and Glasgow’s Chloe Hagerman placed third at .92 pounds.
Wolf Point’s Amari Casterline was fourth at .90 pounds. Glasgow’s Brantley Brunelle took fifth at .72 pounds.
In the 12 and over division, Paxton Rayburn was the winner at 1.00 pounds. Glasgow’s Konner Ulrich placed second at .90 pounds and Fort Peck’s Graham Sigmundstad took third at .18 pounds.
