Earlene Sexton
Earlene Adelynn (Ludwig) Sexton, 84, went to be with our Lord and Savior July 23, 2024, at Trinity Hospital in Wolf Point, Mont. She suffered years of declining health and passed due to complications in her lungs.
Earlene was born on June 21, 1940, the second of twin girls to Magdalena and Earl Ludwig in Baker, Mont. She spent her childhood on the family farm in Plevna with her three siblings, twin Ethel, Marilyn and Alvin. She told stories of the farm and having to watch their step everywhere they went for rattlesnakes. Her family moved to Wolf Point for her junior year of high school then moved again to Circle where she graduated high school in 1958.
Earlene worked as a secretary at the Farmers Union Elevator, the Southside Elementary School for 18 years and for Schuster Law Office. She then worked for the Farmers Home Administration in Wolf Point and was then transferred to Glasgow to work at the Rural Housing Development. After traveling 120 miles a day for nine years, she happily retired in 2004.
When Earlene was going to school in Wolf Point, she met her future husband Wally who was working at the Farmers Union Oil gas station. They married on Aug. 28, 1960, and would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
To this union was born Lori in November of 1961 and Melissa in February of 1967. Her girls were her life and she was a wonderful mother. Earlene was a quiet woman, her daughters always thought it was because Wally talked so much that she couldn't get a word in edgewise! She passed her kind loving demeanor and gentle heart to her first daughter, Lori, and her love of music and reading to her youngest, Melissa. They both got her stubborn streak! Earlene loved to travel with her girls on work trips and shopping expeditions. She also loved to go on camping trips with them.
Other than family time, Earlene enjoyed reading,
