Man Loves Entertaining In Variety Of Ways
When Patrick Branger was about 10 years old, he was curious when a friend was able to ride a unicycle. The little boy then learned how to jungle when he was in elementary school. Now 24 years old later, Branger is entertaining fairgoers throughout the nation with Montana Premier Entertainment’s Magic of Circus Show.
He jokes that he became an entertainer/magician because he didn’t have any friends growing up. He still remembers putting on his first show when he was just a youngster.
“It was a friend’s sister’s birthday party when I was 10 years old,” Branger laughed. “It was pretty horrible.”
Branger performed throughout last week at the Roosevelt County Fair held in Culbertson.
“Each show is different. It’s a mix of magic and circus acts,” Branger said. “It’s juggling, unicycling and different illusions.”
The one thing that remains the same is how the shows finishes. “We always end with cutting a kid in half,” Branger said.
Having crowd involvement is a constant goal of the performances. “We’re always doing tricks where we get kids up there,” he added.
Crowd-pleasing segments include chair stacking and some magic tricks. His schedule included a seven-state tour last year. The entertainer is joined on stage with his wife, Casey. The couple resides in Billings where Patrick’s regular job is as a firefighter.
He describes his wife as the “lovely assistant” for the shows.
“She kind of married into it,” Patrick said of the entertainment.
His fun work during the Roosevelt County Fair included the Magic of Circus Shows on Wednesday and Friday and appearing as Patty Cakes the Clown on Thursday. He said he can’t say which role he enjoys the most.
“Both, it’s hard to say,” Branger said. “I absolutely love Patty Cakes. That’s where it started with me.”
He also served as the DJ for the youth dance on Wednesday and took care of audio for Friday’s concert.
Branger also runs Montana Premier Entertainment, which offers a wide range of products including inflatables, sound and lighting production and entertainers for celebrations.
