Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 64 calls from Aug. 5-12. The calls included the following: Aug. 5
Deputy/coroner assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice and Wolf Point Ambulance Service with a male who died of natural causes in Wolf Point.
Aug. 6
Deputies assisted Three Affiliated Tribes’ law enforcement for a request of a welfare check in regards to a custody issue in Brockton to located an adult female and two children. They were unsuccessful in locating the person.
Deputies responded to west of Culbertson to remove someone from a property. The female individual explained that she was just fixing a tire on her vehicle.
Aug. 7
Deputies assisted the Richland County Sheriff with a search warrant of a property in Culbertson’s city limits.
Deputies responded to Lucky Lil’s in Wolf Point regarding a person causing a disturbance. When deputies arrived at the scene, the female had already left.
Deputies assisted the Wolf Point Police Department remove an individual from the Wolf Point Job Service.
Aug. 8
Deputies responded to Brockton for a domestic report. A female said she was physically assaulted by a family member. She was given advice of how to obtain a restraining order. Samantha Waupoose, 36, was charged with partner/family member assault.
Deputies assisted Fort Peck Tribes’ animal control after a report of a vicious dog in Poplar. They couldn’t locate the dog at the property and no one answered the door.
Deputies responded to an area west of Bainville for a report of a train hitting a trailer. Also responding were the Montana Highway Patrol, Culbertson ambulance and Culbertson Fire Department. The highway patrol is conducting an investigation.
Deputies responded to a disturbance near Bainville. The report regarded two males fighting in a house. Tyler Granley, 36, was charged with assault of a peace officer, assault with a weapon, obstructing a peace officer, partner/family member assault (second offense) and resisting arrest. FPTDLJ assisted in the case.
Deputies responded to Culbertson’s city limits for a report of teenage boy walking home from the county fair and having someone attempt to kidnap him. Deputies got the name of a suspect, who was traveling west from Culbertson. The case remains under investigation.
Aug. 9
Deputies received a report that someone punched a store front window on Main Street in Wolf Point.
Aug. 10
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a report of a male walking with a handgun. Devon Hall was arrested by FPTDLJ.
Aug. 11
Deputies received a report of a burglary in Fort Kipp. Someone broke into a residence and stole some property.
Deputies responded to a crash on Montana Highway 16 between Froid and Culbertson. Also responding were the Montana Highway Patrol, a fire department and an ambulance. The female driver didn’t suffer any injuries.
