Fort Kipp Hosts Annual Celebration
The Fort Kipp Celebration was held over the weekend. The community is located 10 miles east of Brockton and 10 miles west of Culbertson.
Culbertson’s Mary Machart told the Northern Plains Independent that the addition of artificial turf to the arena was a nice touch. “The most noticeable addition was the fake grass,” she said. “Kept the dust down and it made all of the vibrant colors stand out.”
The powwow grounds were buzzing with vendors, families and dancers of all ages enjoying the weekend event. The baseball field had games going and the weather cooperated with mostly mild late summer temps. Health Promotion Disease Prevention hosted a walk/run event Sunday and a horsemanship clinic was hosted by Spotted Bull Recovery Resource Center.
Pat Ricker was the celebration announcer. Aiyanna Eder was princess. Antoinette Wise Spirit was princess attendant. Junior princess and attendant were Winter Brugh and Neyanna St. Germaine, respectively. Reagon Cooper was mini princess and Kazzley LaFromboise was mini princess attendant. Traveling princess was Keira Iris Fast Horse.
Flag bearer was Pauline Lee. Advisor was Derrick Long Hair. Devryn Long Hair was lodge keeper. Zavier Rattling Thunder was secretery and Keaton Armon Lee Longtree was treasurer.
