Froid/Lake Girls Shoot For Strong Season

After qualifying for the Eastern C divisional volleyball tournament last season, Froid/Lake returns all but one starter entering this campaign.

Returning starters include senior Mara Salvevold, senior Brooklynn Nordwick, senior Addison Elvsaas, senior Alexa Nelson and sophomore Isabelle Nordwick.

Salvevold was a first-team All-Conference selection and Elvsaas was a second-team pick last season.

Experience and quickness are anticipated to be strengths for the team this season.

Tarryn Woelber is the squad’s head coach after serving as an assistant last year.

Lilly Johnson, a junior, also saw a decent amount of playing time last season, but she is questionable with an injury this year. Avery Johnson, a junior, is another returning player with varsity experience.

The Red Hawks are also hopeful that other players such as sophomores Keira Stentoft and Jordyn Breuer are ready to take on larger roles this season.

The Red Hawks will open their season against Plentywood in Medicine Lake on Friday, Aug. 30. Froid/ Lake will then compete at a tournament in Sidney on Saturday, Aug. 31.
