Gunn Charged With DUI, Speeding

Maurice James Gunn is facing the charges of driving under the influence, fourth or subsequent offense, and speeding in district court. According to court documents, the Montana Highway Patrol observed a vehicle speeding on July 27 in Poplar. The white SUV appeared to be traveling over the posted speed limit of 30 miles per hour. After the patrol activated his front radar antenna, he observed a speed of 47 mph. After a traffic stop, standardized field sobriety tests were conducted. Gunn refused to do the walk and turn test. He later refused a preliminary breath test. The highway patrol applied for a telephonic search warrant for Gunn’s blood since he had five prior DUI convictions listed on his Montana return. Two vials of blood were drawn and sent to the state crime lab.
