Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Report
The Roosevelt County Sheriff’s Office responded to 101 calls from Aug. 19-25. The calls included the following: Aug. 19
Deputies responded to Poplar’s city limits for a report of a stolen purse. The incident is under investigation.
Deputies received a report of several juveniles being assaulted in Brockton. Deputies assisted the Fort Peck Tribes Department of Law and Justice and ambulance service. The case is under investigation.
Deputies responded to the Gold Dust Casino near Bainville to perform a security check. Deputies noticed an adult male slumped over the cab of his pickup. Bronc Bilquist, 20, of Bainville was charged with being in physical control of a vehicle while being under the influence of intoxicants and failure to provide proof of liability insurance.
Aug. 20
Deputies received a report from the Roosevelt County Road Department of a stolen payloader. The equipment was located in McCone County.
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ after a pickup was stolen from Indian Health Services in Wolf Point. The pickup had a trailer that was pulling an asphalt mixer. It was recovered a short time later in one of the Wolf Point tribal housing areas. The keys were still in the ignition.
Deputies responded to the Poplar airport addition for a report of an argument between two spouses. Deputies removed the male and gave him a ride to a relative’s house.
Deputies responded to a report of an assault in Poplar’s city limits. A male claimed he was beaten up.
Aug. 22
Deputies and FPTDLJ responded to a report of a male breaking into a home in Poplar. The reporting party saw the suspect returning to take tomatoes from the backyard.
Deputies responded after a report of a possible intoxicated driver. A male was arrested on Highway 16 between Froid and Culbertson.
Aug. 23
Deputies responded after a woman in Culbertson asked for assistance in locating a safe house for her sister. A victim coordinator in Glasgow was contacted. Family members said they will assist the female.
An adult male in Culbertson reported that someone stole his dog. Deputies patrolled the area. The man reported that he found his dog the next day.
Deputies assisted FPTDLJ with a report from Brockton’s B& S Quick Stop of an adult male taking two cases of Twisted Tea. A tribal court warrant was sought for the individual.
Aug. 24
Deputies received a report of a woman screaming and banging on windows in Wolf Point.
Deputies received a report of a couple arguing in Froid. The parties separated to stop the verbal argument.
A woman reported that she was punched in the face by a male in Wolf Point. FPTDLJ assisted with the call.
Aug. 25
Deputies received a report of a restraining order violation in Fort Kipp. The matter was forwarded to tribal court.
Deputies responded to the pow-wow grounds at Fort Kipp. An adult male said an adult female backed up and struck his vehicle.
Deputies responded to the Riverside area near Brockton after an adult female said her spouse was trying to kick her out of the house. The parties agreed to separate.
