The Culbertson/Bainville crosscountry program is increasing its numbers this year in preparation for a good season.

“The teams are slowly growing both for the high school and junior high/elementary,” Coach Chance Hyatt said. “I think that creates hope for a bright future.”

Returning athletes back from last year’s team are Rebekah Ellerkamp and Colin Purvis.

New to the high school’s program are junior Jade Lone Bear, sophomore Gunner Glas, freshman Arlie Purvis and freshman Soren Batt.

“We want to improve each week and take as many to state as possible,” Hyatt said. The coach expects a lot of good competition for the upcoming season.

“I think Scobey and Whitewater girls should still be competitive, especially in the area,” Hyatt said. “For Class C as a whole, I think Manhattan Christian and West Yellowstone for boys should be pretty strong and Belt might be the team to beat for girls, but this also might be the most wide open C has been in a couple of years.”
